Dave Matthews Seniors Tennis Tournament

Dave Matthews Seniors Tennis Tournament hosted by Nelson Bay Tennis Club.

3 Day Round Robin Tournament

Players starts at 7.45am on Friday and 7.30am Saturday and Sunday. Play finishes around 6pm each day.

Friday afternoon commencing around 4.30pm, we play a Mens doubles exhibition match.

This year the players are Mayor of Port Stephens Ryan Palmer and Luke Rankovic versus Rod Stubbs and head coach of Nelson Bay Tennis Club Blake Denison. The match will be played at Nelson Bay Tennis Club.

Saturday afternoon commencing at 1pm at Nelson Bay tennis club sees the annual Dave Matthews Shield up for grabs. 10 teams will compete for the honour of winning this event.

Nelson Bay Tennis Courts will be the centre to the tournament's activities but the courts in Fingal Bay, Shoal Bay and Soldiers Point will also be used.

The tournament, established by Nelson Bay Tennis Club member Dave Matthews about 19 years ago, caters for tennis players aged 35 and above. It has become the state's second largest seniors tennis tournament.
