Islands of Port Stephens Exhibition

Tomaree Museum Association has announced the staging of an exciting new exhibition at the Port Stephens Visitor Centre Nelson Bay.

The exhibition is open from 14 March to 11 April 2025 and showcases the geology, fauna, flora and history of the outer islands as well as identifying the twenty islands inside Port Stephens.

There is something for everyone - children can read the story of Clarabelle the floating cow or learn about the lives of seahorses. On display will be a spectacularly enlarged 3D model of a nudibranch (beautifully coloured sea slug) produced by local sculptor Matt Johnstone.

Supporting this exhibition will be talks by retired geologist Neil Fraser, explaining the formation and evolution of the area – Neil’s presentations will be held:

- 2pm Tuesday 25 March

- 2pm Tuesday 8 April

Early booking is advisable as seating will be limited. Call the Visitor Information Centre on 4988 0900 to book.
