Whats Happening this October Long Weekend ?

Oktoberfest 

The world’s biggest festival is coming to Port Stephens, with the launch of Oktoberfest at Murray’s Brewery this October long-weekend. And the celebrations will continue all month!

3 special festival beers including Kransky Beer. Oompah-licious festival food. Free ‘rocktoberfest’ concerts and prizes for best dressed.  

Three specially-brewed festival beers are being released, including the brewer’s first Kransky smoky sausage beer, and Black Forest beer. Oktoberfest food features Kransky Burgers, smoked meats, house-made pretzels and more. Free ‘rocktoberfest’ concerts will be performed at the Oktoberfest-themed Bobs Farm brewery.  Saturday 30th September Newcastle Indie/Roots artist, Tom Blake, performs then one of the region’s favourite big bands, The Lamplighters, headlines festival entertainment, with a huge free concert on Sunday 1 October.  And there will be live entertainment each weekend across October. www.murraysbrewingco.com.au/happening/events 

Sacred Tree Markets

Saturday 30th September and Sunday 1st October and located on the picturesque foreshore of Nelson Bay, more than 80 up and coming designers, artists, local creatives and producers gather to create an incredible range of art, design and handmade goods . With an ever evolving line up of live musicians, street food, cultural displays and entertainment the retail festival event has fast become a highlight for both locals and visitors to the Port Stephens area. Enjoy taste testing your way through the gourmet artisan food stalls and relax to live music from some of the most talented musicians in the region.

Opening of Splash Water Park

Nelson Bay is set to receive a cool new water attraction in time for the hot months ahead. Splash Waterpark will be up and operating this long weekend with the opening on Saturday 30th September. 

Water park attractions include a 5 metre-tall rock climbing tower which patrons can jump off, trampolines, monkey bars, swings, “wiggle discs” which are like lily pads that people can run across and balance beams, great for a laugh. The inflatable, modular water park will be set up near Nelson Bay’s public wharf, to the right of the Dolphin Watch Cafe. It will be open weekends and public holidays, and each day of the school holidays from 9am to 6pm and is suitable for all ages above 6 years old. Marquees will be set up on the grass area near the water park. Shoal Bay Greek Festival

Shoal Bay Country Club will come alive on Saturday September 30th with the Shoal Bay Greek Festival. There will be Greek music and dancing, plate smashing, bouzouki and a full Greek feast including Mezethes, Lamb on the spit and Cypriot Souvles. Drinks included Oyzo, Beer, Wine, Sparkling & Soft Drink. The festival starts at 6pm and tickets are $89 per person available to be purchased online.

 

Live Music and Whats On at D'Albora Marina

On the 30th September and the 1st October the Sacred Tree Markets will be abuzz with live music from Tyler John between 11am - 2pm.

The marina has a great selection of retail boutiques offering gifts, clothing, jewellery and accessories you can also enjoy a meal at one of the marina’s many restaurants and cafes. Grab an ice-cream or a cocktail at Mavericks and enjoy the live music from 11am - 2pm by Mick Jones.

Activities abound with Daily Fish Feeding at 10.30am, Aerojump, Sandart, Tattoo Artist & Inflatable Jumping Castle.
