Tastes at the Bay

It’s Spring! and the seasonal flavours of Port Stephens are on show at Tastes at the Bay this November 3-5. Enjoy free live jazz, fabulous food and locally made wines and craft beer on tasting all weekend, throughout the Nelson Bay CBD and Apex Park.

Festival entry is FREE, so you can stroll in the Spring sunshine and explore the streets of Nelson Bay Town Centre, enjoying the live jazz vibe and visiting as many of the tempting tasting stations as you wish. Indulge in decadent sweets, spicy delights and the fresh seafood Port Stephens is famous for. Back by popular demand is the Tattinger Champagne & Oysters Experience, alongside Maquariedale Organic Wines, our own Port Stephens Winery and an amazing array of Murray’s locally brewed craft beers, among the many pop-up producer stalls to be discovered. The festivities kick off on Friday evening at the new Nelson Bay Golf Club with guest winemaker Stuart Blackwell, of the Barossa’s coveted St Hallett’s Winery ,hosting a four course feast.

Hungry for more? Book for the Saturday Jazz Luncheon Cruise and set sail with Moonshadow for a lavish long lunch cruising the harbour; or snap up one of just fifty tickets to the twilight Tasters Trail and you’ll be taken on a progressive exploration of five local dining hot-spots. Each venue will provide a delicious festival tasting plate with beverage, concluding with a sunset cocktail overlooking the harbour at the Santa Monica-style Seabreeze Hotel.

Tastes at The Bay is a great day out, or weekend away, with family and friends – a leisurely 2 ½ hour drive North from Sydney or an hour from Newcastle, with short flights into Newcastle available daily from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast or Dubbo.
