As a restaurant owner, it is imperative that Luke Cameron can source the freshest and best quality ingredients for his customers. And that’s why he visits the Port Stephens Co Opeveryday to purchase his seafood.
“Visitors to the restaurant are looking for the whole package, they want to look at the water and taste the local produce, they want the best seafood you can get,” Luke explains. “And that’s why we get the best quality and freshest ingredients, sourced here from the Co Op.”
Since opening Little Beach Boat House two years ago Luke has been energised to come to work, be creative and bring a different dish to life everyday.
“Working with fresh local produce is just fantastic, Port Stephens oysters are amazing, the local king prawns are great but my favourite is the fish, the tuna, the swordfish and Mahi-mahi- are all just top quality,” he said.
“Being creative with my dishes brings out the best in you as a worker and at the end of the day lots of people thank you for it.”
Not surprisingly, in his spare time Luke loves to fish, spear, dive and of course create food. He has been in the industry for over 20 years and owns several restaurants, but it’s his Port Stephens restaurant that is renowned for its seafood dishes.
“The best thing about Port Stephens seafood is that it comes from a pristine environment, it’s available everyday, the water up here is unbelievable and we get the freshest produce you can get!”
